Routing module for Tactique

New feature for 2007 : the routing module of Tactique software was developed for racing and performance quest. This module is adding further to the Tactiques's functions to provide navigators ans route planners a complete and performing tool for offshore racing. According to Adrena's way of working, the development has been enriched with the contribution of some of the best off shore competitiors and route planners to meet their special needs.

Reading and displaying the GRIB

The routing module enables to display the GRIB of wind, pressure and waves on the cartography. The GRIB can be downloaded from most of all the weather providers.

Calculating a route plan

The route plan is calculated from all the required parameters: date, time and place of departure, place of arrival, wind from the GRIB or simulated, currents from the GRIB, the SHOM model or simulated, the polar to use and its ratio, the scanning angle, the calculation step in degrees, its duration and the maximum time of the route. Thanks to these parameters, the software calculates the optimum route avoiding automatically the coasts.
It is possible to request a routing from a course indicated in the race instructions: in this case, the software will automatically deal with the marks to let and the gates to cross.
Tactique is displayingn a route plan table indicating for each step the prdeiction of the navigation conditions : TWA, TWS, AWA, AWS, heading on ground, surface heading...

Comparing some hypothesis

It is possible to request the software several successive routings by changing some parameters as the GRIB, the wind of the currents and then display them simultaneously on the cartography to compare them.
And more, the Replay function of Tactique enables to play a previous calculated routing and to display on screen all the navigation parameters during the route. Just as if you where replaying a real navigation.
